To celebrate Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson's first anniversary, their photographer, Elizabeth Messina, shared some never-before-seen wedding pictures.

The second is awesome since it is such a real moment. (SO much much better than the standard, "OK, bridesmaids. Stand in a row. Now, 1, 2, 3, CHEESE!") And since it is packed with four important reminders regarding how to style bridesmaid dresses.

__Opt for any muted palette.__There are lots of colors happening here—blues, pinks, purples, greens. (Jessica had 12 bridesmaids, plus, sister Ashlee and mom Tina as co-maids-of-honor.) Keep the fabrications similar. There are flow-y tulles and chiffons plus some hints of lace there. And that's about this, within the texture department. If there have been shiny satin or heavy taffeta within the mix, the visually heavier dresses would stand out.

__Pick low-key bouquets.__The bridesmaid's bouquets are different, making sense using the different dresses, however they are uniform in dimensions, and also the colors are subtle. Bright, bold flowers get their place at some weddings, but here they'd have looked bananas.

__Be in line with hair and makeup.__Your girls don't have to be twinsies in the neck up—that would type of defeat the purpose of mix-and-match—but, just like their gold bridesmaid dresses, their hair and makeup must have the same vibe. Here, the theme was undone curls combined with understated faces.
