Google says its new image search features are like 'Ctrl-F for the world  around you' - TechMende

 

At Google I/O Prabhakar Raghavan, senior vice president of Google, announced a new update for the Lens Multisearch tool, which lets you search with images and a few words. A new mode called "near me" will let users take a picture of an object and search for results locally.

As Raghavan explains, you'll be able to take a photo of a food and search for a restaurant that serves it. Google will then show you a list of related restaurants near you. To make this feature happen, Google scans relevant images from places near you.

Then match it to the photos you upload. "Near me" will be available in English to get started. and will be extended to other languages "Over time"It's like having a super powerful ctrl-F for the world around you.
